Dear Cedar Grove High School Families and Community:
It is my esteemed honor to greet you as the new principal of Cedar Grove High School. I am excited to lead a school that has shown impressive resilience and achievement, and I look forward to continuing this journey with you.
I have over ten years of leadership experience in elementary, middle, and high schools. Most recently, I served as the principal at Eagle’s Landing Middle School in Henry County. I also have military experience in the United States Navy and Army since 1989 and was promoted to lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves earlier this year.
Early in my education career, I taught social studies and special education, gaining a comprehensive understanding of students' diverse needs. These experiences have shaped my commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment for all students.
At the heart of my leadership approach is a strong belief in the power of collaboration. I am dedicated to building meaningful relationships with parents, staff, students, and the entire Cedar Grove community. Together, we can continue cultivating an environment wherein every student is empowered to achieve their best, and our dedicated staff feel valued and supported in their roles.
I am eager to hear your insights about the strengths and opportunities within our school and community. To that end, I would love to meet you in person. A family and community principal meet-and-greet event will be scheduled soon. This will be an excellent opportunity for us to connect, share ideas, and discuss how we can continue to move Cedar Grove forward.
I am confident that, with your partnership, we can make this school year an extraordinary experience for our students and families. Thank you for your ongoing dedication to Cedar Grove High School, and I look forward to working cohesively with you in the months and years ahead.
Sincerely,
Dr. Malik Douglas, Principal
Cedar Grove High School
